Map of the Milwaukee & Superior Rail Road and its connections.

This 1857 map of the of the Milwaukee & Superior RR (never built) shows the proposed Wisconsin & Minnesota RR as a broad sweeping arc connecting Green Bay to St. Paul.  The proposed route would have taken the railroad near Wausau and Chippewa Falls.   The actual route of the Green Bay & Lake Pepin Railroad which was built about ten years later took a slightly more southerly route, meeting the Mississippi River in Trempealeau County.

The map was published by Geo. F. Nesbitt & Company, New York NY.
