This 1872 map of the GB&LP was taken from Colton's railroad and express map of the northwestern states. Published by G.W. & C.B. Colton & Co., New York. The GB&LP was mislabeled Green & Lake Pepin. Tracks only extended from (Fort) Howard to New London at this time, though it is interesting to note that an 1871 map from a year earlier shows the rails extending to Northport, 6.5 miles further west.

Railroads were still a new concept to the land west of Green Bay at this time: the Milwaukee Road's line north from Green Bay, the Soo Line's crossing at Black Creek and the Chicago & North Western's extension to New London were still only proposed routes at this time.
