Underframe details.

For the underframe, the E&C Shops part is shortened to fit. This results in an imperfect model of the Pullman-Standard boxcar underframe but since it mostly hidden under the car, it was a compromise I could live with. If you want a more detailed underframe, Intermountain Railway 40-foot P-S boxcar parts are available (Intermountain parts P40400-16 and P40400-18). The biggest shortcoming of the E&C Shops part is that it lacks the bolster. Because of this, some spare Athearn boxcar underframes from the parts stash donated the bolster sections. Once the underframe is in place, add the brake cylinder and reservoir. Use can use the E&C Shops parts or replace them with more detailed parts.
