Ahnapee & Western's sole caboose from the 1920s onward was #020.

1920-30s Caboose Lettering Styles

Early scheme, with full railroad name and GREEN BAY ROUTE herald.

Later simplified scheme with reporting marks and road number only.

The former Great Northern #90008 was acquired from second-hand dealer Hyman-Michaels Co. in December 1924 for $620.  Operated until 1972, the car is now preserved indoors at the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay.

The lettering is a simplified scheme with the reporting marks and number in railroad gothic lettering centered between the roof edge and strap, just below the cupola.
