Operations on the layout start in this staging yard, which represents points west of Black Creek.  Access to the main layout room is through the hole in the wall ("It's a Preussler family tradition on our layouts," Marv told me.).  Trains heading into the layout room are eastbound towards Norwood Yard in Green Bay, Wis.
